The most important aspects of boiler servicing are as follows:

1. Safety

A yearly service ensures that any issues are caught early, if a seal is starting to wear out, it can be replaced before a leak occurs. This is extremely important to check each year, as a leak can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be fatal to the residents of your property in minutes of the leak breaking out. A boiler services massively reduces the risk of this occurring.

2. Cost saving/warranty retention

A yearly service can pick up on issues in their early stages, while the fix is still an easy and cheap repair. A flue seal we mentioned above, this costs around £10 for a replacement part, and can save the life of you and your family. Additionally, other valves and seals on the boiler, equally as cheap to replace fail entirely due to lack of maintenance, the entire boiler can be destroyed, requiring a full replacement.

It the same concept as an oil change in your car, allow the car to run with old oil for long enough and the engine can be ruined.  

All boiler brands requires a yearly service to retain the warranty, so if something catastrophic happens, you can receive free repairs, as long as the service schedule has been adhered to.

It's entirely up to you, there is of course no legal requirement to service your boiler, but for the sake of a small fee per year for a service, why risk it?

Yearly servicing is a condition of all boiler brand guarantees and must be completed each year, otherwise the guarantee will be invalid. 

Services must always be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer for gas boilers or an OFTEC registered technician for oil boilers. Braden Hockley ltd is both OFTEC and Gas Safe qualified so we can service any boiler safely.

At this point, there are few boilers/heating system setups we haven't worked on and serviced. Whether you have a common brand such as Worcester/bosch or vailant, or a less common brand such baxi or alpha. We worked on them all and can safely service them.

Unfortunately we're unable to offer a traditional service plan, however we're happy to email or call you with a service reminder each year to help you stay on top of things, and give you a good yearly service deal should you continue to use Braden Hockley ltd as your boiler service provider.

First of all missing a service may void your warranty. When you request repairs under guarantee, your boiler service history will be checked, if it has not been compelted yearly since installation, you may have to pay full price for any repairs.

In additon, you will put you and the residents of your home at unnecessary risk of health hazards presented by an an unmaintained boiler.
